Islanders vs. Bruins Series Recap: Islanders Win (4-2)

Game 1: Bruins Win 5-2 (BOS Leads 1-0)

The Bruins won Game 1 at TD Garden arena in Boston by a final score of 5-2. For the Islanders, Beauvillier (4), Pelech (1) scored. Pastrnak (3, 4, + 5), McAvoy (1) and Hall (3) scored for Boston. The winning goalie was Tuukka Rask and on the losing end was Ilya Sorokin.


Game 2: Islanders Win OT 4-3 (Series Tied 1-1)

The Islanders took Game 2 on the road at TD Garden. Scoring for New York was Bailey (4), Palmieri (4), Pageau (2), and Cizikas (1). When it comes to Boston, Coyle (2), Bergeron (4), and Marchand (4) lit the lamp. The winning goalie was Semyon Varlamov and losing was Tuukka Rask.


Game 3: Bruins Win OT 2-1 (BOS Leads 2-1)

The series has shifted to Long Island at the Nassau Coliseum where the Bruins took Game 3 2-1. Smith (2) and Marchand (5) scored for Boston and Barzal (1) for New York. On the winning side for Game 3 was Tuukka Rask while Semyon Varlamov got the loss.


Game 4: Islanders Win 4-1 (Series Tied 2-2)

The Islanders won Game 4 on the Island and got themselves right back in the series. Only Krejci (1) lit the lamp for Boston meanwhile Barzal (2), Palmieri (5), Cizikas (2), and Pageau (3) scored for New York. Tuukka Rask was handed the loss while Semyon Varlamov won for New York.


Game 5: Islanders Win 5-4 (NYI Leads 3-2)

The Islanders traveled back to Boston in Game 5 and picked up what at the time was the biggest win of their season. Barzal (3), Palmieri (6), Bailey (5), Eberle (3) and Nelson (4) all got their names in on the scoresheet. While Pastrnak (6 + 7), Marchand (6), and Krejci (2) scored goals for Boston. Jeremy Swayman got the loss for Boston while Semyon Varlamov did enough to get the win for New York.


Game 6: Islanders win 6-2 (NYI Wins 4-2)

It was a must win for the Bruins back in Long Island but they got trampled and lost by a score of 6-2. For Boston, Marchand scored twice (7 + 8). The Islanders kept seeing the goal light in red as Zajac (1), Nelson (5+6), Palmieri (7), Clutterbuck (3) and Pulock (3) scored. Tuukka Rask lost again while Semyon Varlamov got his team to the next round with the win.


Whats next?

The New York Islanders have advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals against the defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning. This series does not have an announced start date yet.
