Game 1: 9/3/21, 7:10 PM (Yanks win 4-3)
Yanks take game 1 in 11 innings as Stanton was the hero in this one. Starter Nestor Cortes was phenomenal yet again, he left the game with a chance to win but unfortunately got stuck with a no decision, he gave up 1 run over 5.2 innings of work. This game was scoreless until the 4th when Stanton gave them a 1-0 lead on a solo shot. LeMahieu made it 2-0 in the 5th on a Sac fly but solo homers by Trey Mancini and former Yankee prospect Jorge Mateo in the 6th and 7th would tie the game. Wandy Peralta gave up the go ahead RBI single to Ryan Mountcastle to give the O’s a 3-2 lead in the 10th. Fortunately, the Yanks tied it right back in the bottom of the 10th on a LeMahieu RBI single. Clay Holmes would somehow escape a bases loaded jam in the 11th which was key, as the in the bottom of the inning Stanton led off the inning with a single that brought in the ghost runner from 2nd as the winning run. This game was a key win as all the other AL East teams won as well. Holmes picked up the win while Dillion Tate took the loss.

Game 2: 9/4/21, 1:10 PM (Baltimore wins 4-3)
Well the Yanks lose a pathetic game. Jordon Montgomery didn’t give length but he only gave up 1 run in 4.2 innings. The offense was getting no-hit until the 7th, just embarrassing. They managed just 3 hits. Peralta imploded in the 7th giving up 4 straight hits and 2 runs. Yanks tacked on a run in the 7th on a weak RBI single by Torres scoring Rizzo. That was the 1st hit of the game for NY. The Yanks were down 3-1 going into the 8th until a single by LeMahieu followed by a huge 2-run homer by Joey Gallo tying the game. Chapman pitched the 9th and gave up a run, totally not his fault. He struck out the lead off man but he reached due to a passed ball, a weak single and a walk later it’s bases loaded nobody out, Chapman would strikeout Urias and give up a sac fly to Severino to give the O’s a 4-3 lead, then Chapman struck out Mateo to end the inning. It’s hard to fault Chapman on that run scoring. Yanks went down 1-2-3 to end the game. They didn’t deserve to win. Chapman took the loss while Sulser got the win.
Game 3: 9/5/21, 1:10 PM (Baltimore wins 8-7)
Yanks drop another embarrassing game because of Andrew Heaney. He coughed up a 3-run lead. Starter Corey Kluber wasn’t terrible but command and high pitch count didn’t save him. He gave up 2 runs over 3.2 innings, he was limited to about 75-80 pitches just coming off the IL last week so he wasn’t able to give the taxed bullpen much length. Yanks scored 4 runs in the 2nd on 1 swing of the bat, Gary Sanchez would hit a titanic blast to the left field corner 2nd deck for a grand slam to give the Yanks a 4-1 lead, I thought the game was over at that point honestly. They made it 5-2 when on a RBI bloop single by Rizzo. In the 6th, Gleyber made a questionable play on a grounder he took too long to throw it to 1st with 2 outs and then the next hitter Cedric Mullins would crush a 2-run homer to cut the lead to 5-4. In the postgame press conference, Torres said he lost his footing because of how wet the field was in a rainy game, no excuses make the play. Either way things looked to be alright after Gary yet again crushed another 2-run bomb to make it 7-4 New York, hopefully this is a sign of him getting hot. Andrew Heaney came in the 7th, he was about as awful as anyone can imagine, why does this loser still have a role on this team and why does this loser have a job in this league? These are questions I will ask myself until this guy is off the team (which can’t come soon enough)! He pitched an embarrassing and awful game where it rained with very loud boos as he walked off after giving up 4 runs. He sucks and I hope he gets cut, he doesn’t even deserve a minor league roster spot, he’s so bad. Yanks didn’t do much right today other than the offense and Stanton made a stellar play in right field saving multiple runs. Good job G. Heaney took the MUCH DESERVING LOSS while Diplan got the win.

My thoughts:
Embarrassing. Heaney sucks!
What’s next?
The O’s head back home to take on another bad team the Kansas City Royals in a 4 game set. The Yankees stay home and welcome the red hot Toronto Blue Jays in a 4 game set. We’re officially in a pennant race as Labor Day marks the official start to the pennant race, Yanks better start winning games!
